Human Relations Movement started from the study of Elton Mayo who studied behavior of people in group through Hawthorne studies in 1930s'.

The study revealed following points:

  • The natural group is very important and it takes precedence over functional structures of the organization
  • The importance of two way communication between employees and management in order to build trust and harmony
  • Focusing to develop high level leadership which ensures effective decision making

Due to this, there were lot of changes in the way behavioral study importance increased. Scholars like Madam Parker Follet, Herbert Simon etc. also carried out study with human relations as the base
