How would socialization be different in a machine model organization and a human relations organization?
The organizations which treats its people like machines, i.e. they should perform and deliver the tasks assigned by the management without any deviation or variation. There is no another version in this, workers should perfork like a machine. Here the interaction between people, employee to employee, employee to management, mangers to management etc is zero. the only discussions are about informing the orders to the employees, and delivering the same by employees. In this kind of organizations, there is limited scope for socilization process. Because, the interactions, relations and personal attachments among the people is less or I can say zero. Hence, there is limited scope for socilization in these kind of organizations.
On the other hand, other organizations, apart from above said, are those human relations organizations. Here the new comers or newly hired people must know about the organization, the culture the employees following, the attitudes of people, formality or informality of the management, the goals of the company and so on. Once we enter into a firm to work, it is our responsibility to learn and know the following:
Hence, it is important to the firm to provide socilization process to the new comers formally. It helps the people to learn about the orgnization, its targets, its business and nature, its people, the process and so on. Here, the importance of socilization process is higher in human relations organizations than machine model organizaton.
