What happens if various interpretation of the "plain view" doctrine create significant differences between jurisdiction?
Plain view doctorine was introduced in order to aid the law enforcing officials to conduct a search without a warrant when they see a contraband or in other words evidence of crime in plain view. They will not be in need of a physical warrant for the seizure of contraband whilst applying the plain view doctrine.
If in case there are various interpretation of the plain view doctorine which might lead to significant differences between jurisdictions, there are chances that the offence is executed in one jurisdiction and the offenders escape to another jurisdiction in order to avoid the legal proceedings. This will create chaos and will complicate the process for the law enforcing officials.
