Homework Answers

Answer #1

Ryder Transportation offers various development and learning initiatives to its employees for improving their efficiency and help them to attain overall personal growth. The training and development process of the company focuses on three fundamental areas for this purpose, namely, talent management, performance culture and individual development.

Talent management emphasizes on prioritizing the employees by evaluating goals and each of their performance so that they can identify the areas for improvement. This program focuses on approachability, building effective teams, handling ambiguous situations, improving decision making skills, building integrity and trust, managing diversity and confidence, encouraging innovation, relationships with peers and others.

Performance culture helps in ensuring that the employees are provided with effective guidance and leadership that would enable them to achieve their goals. It focuses on establishing relationships with employees so that their needs can be identified, thoughts can be exchanged and they can set their own goals.

Individual development focuses on promoting a healthy and positive working environment so that employees can maximize their performance and efficiency. Thus, the company ensures that they receive individual feedback about their performance and are acknowledged for their efforts that consequently help the employees to reach their full potential. This makes them feel valued as their individual growth is considered essential in the company.
