Well I was associated with one of the leading telecom, internship as a project coordinator ,and I was lined with lead project Manager ,and yes why I rated myself to 10 because I invested myself to learn the process and product first , joined skilled based training which helped me a lot in conducting and executing my projects .
Every day in profession is a learning and under guidance of lead project manager I learned several skills and methodologies of project management which not only help me to finish the project on time rather I carried some professional learning also which helps me to face interviews very confidently after my interns.
One of the biggest learning I wanted to share here which I learned in my interns ie communication, which is the most integral skills requires in any industry. Effective communication skills to your manager, stakeholder(internal and external) sponsor , business units and director always make the channel of communication very strong and clear if we are communicating the progress of project , report or any organisational requirements , its hardly matters the challenges comes in your BAU (business as usual) or operational challenges, if your channel of communication is sound with all the parties mentioned above , I think it helps a lot in your profession.
Another aspect which I learned in my interns is how to meet the CRD (customer required date ), here also our communication with customer , end user plays very vital role, as if we should not make or set any false expectations in front of our customer during the KOC (kick off project/initial discussion with customer), likewise if customer asked to deliver the project very soon and we are apprised about all apprehension related to supplier , field engineer , technical designer whether all will turn there result before we go for implementation date then saying yes with customer will be a challenge and leads to detrimental.
