Steps organisation can take to overcome resistance to change:
There can be two type of change in an organisation positive and a negative one, like downsizing or retrenchment. In order to disclose a negative situation to the staff members, it is better to reveal the information as soon as possible to avoid last movement of panic and resistance.
When the change is positive one expansion plan of the business, shifting to new building that is double the size of current one, then it is important to tailor a news appropriately so that employee does not assume any information and do not get perplexed. Instead of announcing "we are shifting to new building", the announcement can be more precise by mentioning "we are moving into new building that gives opportunity to recruit more candidate and share work and accept more project which would result in more revenues".
