Federal law does not cover discrimination on the basis of marital status. Effective from the civil rights act of 1964, title VII declared it to be government policy, where workplace does not differentiate between the employees based on the factors such as race, religion, color and physical disabilities. Marital status has not been a address to be a part of the US Federal law. Therefore, it is not covered by the federal law.
