Crohne's disease is the inflammation of the bowel wall, it may affect any part of the digestive tract from mouth to anus. Ulcerative colitis is the inflammation of the inner lining of the large bowel especially colon and rectum.
In crohn's disease there will be healthy part of intestine between the inflammed areas,while ulcerative colitis is the continuous inflammation the colon.
Lean meat and poultry are recommended for ulcerative colitis as it contain less protein.
Oatmeal,low fibre fruits, prepared vegetables, juices,oily fishes are good for clients with ulcerative colitis and crohn's disease.
Client with these diseases should avoid taking alcohol, caffeine, carbonated drinks,dried beans, legumes,dried fruits,high fibre rich foods,foods with sulfate, diary products etc..
