A1c test measures the amount of glucose attached to
haemoglobin. If the level of glucose attached is high then the A1c
is high indicating diabetes mellitus.
Managment of A1c :
- Eat 4 to 5 smaller meals compared to 3 heavy meals.
- Control the portion of food intake.
- Eat complex carbohydrates rather than simple
carbohydrates.
- Take fiber rich diet.
- Use millets , whole grain based food .
- Avoid eating processed and high fat content foods.
- Avoid fried foods.
- Follow healthy lifestyle.
- Exercise, go for walk or practice any sport of your
choice.
- Take oral hypoglycemics or insulin as prescribed if you are
diabetic.
- Monitor weight .
- Practice yoga, meditation to distress.
- Maintain a routine to sleep. Get proper rest.
