AFFECT OF THE STRUCTURAL ABNORMALITY OF THE Hb S :

  • THE SICKLING OF THE RED BLOOD CELLS RESULT IN PREMATURE BREAKING AND THEREBY LEADING TO ANEMIA, WHICH IS REFERRED TO AS SICKLE CELL ANEMIA.
