How does each hormone, ADH and Aldosterone, individually affect nephrons and what specific region(s) of the nephron do they affect?
Answer : ADH causes a reduction in urine volume output by binding to receptors in the Late distal convoluted tubule and collecting duct which increases the reabsorbtion of sodium and water and triggering the insertion of aquaporin-2 water channels in the principal cell membrane of these areas in the tubule while Aldosterone is a hormone which increases the number of open sodium channels and potassium channels in the apical membrane of Distal convoluted tubule , by causing existing channels to open and stimulates the synthesis of Na+/K+ pumps in the basolateral membrane which help in reabsorption of sodium salt ...Thanks dear student
