My nursing professor was discussing delegation and she listed these steps for the delegation process:
1. Assess the person
2. Know the job description
3. Know staff availability
4. Educate the staff member
Can you please elaborate on this? I do not understand.
Delegation is the process of distributing or dividing work or responsibility to workers.
1.Assess the person means manager or superior authority should have the thorough knowledge about the ability of the person he supposed to delegate the job.he should assess whether the person is capable for that job.
2.As a good manager,he should know the job description.it means the needed qualification.eg: nursing superintendent cant give the job of nurse to 4th class worker.
3.know staff availability means he should know the number of staffs available during work distribution.it should equally divide.acvording to the number,he should divide.not give too much burden to single person.
4.Educate the members regarding work, how to carryout works and guide them.
