There are few traits she looking for in the new leader and manager. She’s looking for people that open to learning, flexible, go above and beyond and learn to step outside their comfort zone no matter how difficult it may be. She wants people to take the initiative, she wants them to ask a lot of questions, she wants them to look back at what they do to improve themselves, what can they do to help others and do that willingly. She strongly believes if there is a person willing to go above and beyond to make sure not only their work is done, but others in the whole department is looking good, they will do well in life. Because they will always be giving and working toward the better goals, if we do that we can’t do anything but shine.

She started college, but all the sudden her dad got sick, he has to retire from work because of a serious accident. She knew it’s not the right time for her to continue education, when her family is struggle so much. She decided to quit college and started working, She went to Chicago and lived with her brother, and work as inspector at Broth candies, she saved her money, and went back to school. Every summer when she was out of school, she go back to Broth and worked to save money and pay her way to school. Once she finished college, her mom and dad giving her advice and ask her to start graduate school. They wanted to help with her first-year tuition, but she refused because didn’t want to do that. She wanted to go to graduate school but she didn’t want to be on them. She decided she will do it later, when she’s ready both physically and financially. But after not too long, she got married, one thing to another she didn’t go back to school. After several years, her marriage didn’t work out, she got divorced. She got a job and try to go back to school, something came up, she had to stop for a while. She decided to go back, but again, something came up, she had to stop. But she was so proud that she never gave up, she kept going back no matter what. Six years ago, she got only twelve credits left to finish her master. She called St. Thomas and say she really want to come back and finish her master, but unfortunately, because she has pass 7 years, so all of her old credits were gone. She was down for a while, but with the strong will, she finally decided to start from the begining. She started at St Katherine studying organization leadership and strategic management. She took one class per semester. Some years, she couldn’t take it, because her life and job are chaotic. But now, she was so proud and happy to told me that she’s working on her final project. She was very proud of herself for not afraid to start over again, and never give up. She thinks master degree will give her a confident being able to go back out in the world, if she need to go back and compete. She has a tool to do well in the job market if she needed to. She always told her employees to never give up. Right at that moment, she stopped and gave me the best advice, she said; “always try to educate yourself, continue to read continue to write, continue to take classes, you can never be over educated, but you can do is you can have so many skills that you can do multiple thing, you can help your family, you can help your children, you can do whatever you want to do, but you have to know it must be something within you to do it. Don’t give up!”

She told me she would’ve going straight to graduate school, as a young child she doesn’t know what her mom and dad were talking about, she should’ve listen to their advices, go straight to graduate school and get it out of the way. She also says, it will open up so many doors and a lot of opportunities, so do it as soon as we can. Second things she would’ve done is 401(k) plans, she should’ve investing early in her life. She regrets that she didn’t do that from the first check she made. So now when she hires people she always tells them about the 401(k) plans. She explained the benefit and tell them to get into is as soon as they able to before their grace period. If we start investing early in life. It opens up for so many opportunities. I really like one of her advice, she stated, “don’t think about I used to make this much money, think about I should’ve save this much, if you’re going to pay now or pay later, pay now” Last thing she should’ve done differently is when she first got out of college. She got a job offer with the federal government in California. She should’ve taken the job instead of turned it down. She told herself to never pass opportunities.

There are a few traits she is looking for in the new leader and manager. She’s looking for people that are open to learning, flexible, go above and beyond and learn to step outside their comfort zone no matter how difficult it may be. She wants people to take initiative and ask a lot of questions. She wants them to look back at what they do to improve themselves, what can they do to help others and do that willingly. She strongly believes if there is a person willing to go above and beyond to make sure not only their work is done, but others in the whole department are also looking good, they will do well in life. Because they will always be giving and working towards the better goals, and if we do that we can’t do anything but shine.

She started college, but all of a sudden, her dad met with a serious accident and had to retire from work. Looking at her family struggle so much, she knew that it was not the right time for her to continue education. She decided to quit college and started working. She went to Chicago and lived with her brother, and work as an inspector at Broth candies. She saved money and went back to school. Every summer when she was out of school, she went back to Broth and worked to save money and pay her way through school. Once she finished college, her mom and dad advised and asked her to start graduate school. They offered to help with her first-year tuition, but she refused. Although she wanted to go to graduate school, she didn’t want to be a burden on them. She decided to do it later when she would be ready both physically and financially.

But after not too long after, she got married. One thing lead to another and she didn’t go back to school. After several years, her marriage didn’t work out and she got divorced. She got a job and tried going back to school. But something came up and she had to stop school for a while. She decided to go back, but again, something came up and she had to stop. But she was so proud that she never gave up; she kept going back no matter what. Six years ago, she had only twelve credits left to finish her masters. She approached St. Thomas and said that she really wanted to come back and finish her masters. Unfortunately, she was informed that all of her old credits were gone because she had passed 7 years ago. She was down for a while, but with a strong will, she finally decided to start from the beginning. She started school at St Katherine, studying organization leadership and strategic management. She took one class per semester.

During the beginning years, it was difficult because balancing her life and job became chaotic. But now, she was so proud and happy to tell me that she’s working on her final project. She was very proud of herself for not being afraid to start over again, and never giving up. She thought that a master’s degree would give her confidence in being able to go back out in the world, if she needed to go back and compete. She now had a tool to do well in the job market whenever she needed to. She always told her employees to never give up. Right at that moment, she stopped and gave me some precious advice. She said, “Always try to educate yourself, continue to read continue to write, continue to take classes. You can never be over-educated, but you can end up having so many skills that you can do multiple things. You can help your family, you can help your children, you can do whatever you want to do, but you have to know it must be something within you to do it. Don’t give up!”

She told me she would’ve going straight to graduate school, as a young child. She didn’t pay heed to what her mom and dad were talking about but she should’ve listened to their advice and gone straight to graduate school and gotten it out of the way. She also said that it would open up so many doors and a lot of opportunities, so we should do it as soon as we can. The second thing she would’ve done is 401(k) plans; she should’ve invested early in her life. She regrets that she didn’t do that from the first cheque she received. So now when she hires people she always tells them about the 401(k) plans. She explains the benefits and tells them to get into is as soon as they able to, before their grace period. If we start investing early in life, it would open up so many opportunities. I really appreciate her one of her advice, in which she stated, “Don’t think about how much money you used to make; think about how much you should’ve saved. If you have to choose between paying now and paying later, pay now” Last thing she told me she should’ve done differently is that when she first got out of college, she got a job offer with the federal government in California. She felt that she should’ve taken the job instead of turning it down. She told herself to never pass opportunities.
