In case of the stimulation of the sympathetic nervous system there is fight ad flight response leading to the increase in the heart rate, blood pressure and overall cardiovascular activity ,there is decresed gastrointestinal motility as well as pupilary dilation. Further when the patient use adrenergic drug or adrenergic agonist it exhibit the sympathomimetic action means stimulate the sympathetic nervous system resulting in the stimulation of the adrenerig receptors in the sympathetic system of the body causing increased heart rate or myocardiacl contraction, decreased intraocular pressure also caiuses pupil dilation and sweating.

The popular example of alpha adrenergic drugs are:phenylephrine, isoproterenol and albuterol.

The popular example of beta adrenergic drugs are: salmetrol, metaproterenol and terbutaline.
