First and foremost it is important to generate a trusting relationship or a good rapport with thepatient to make the strategies more effective.

For motivating the patient the nurse can conduct a motivational interview with patient in this allow the patient to set a goal by himself,encourage the patient to express his feelings and ideas thus he will have the confidence that he can come out of the dise ase

While talking to the patient put forward certain examples of people who over come the disease and expalin the speed of their prognosis and the abilities and the utelisation of the time by these patients.

Other important thing is avoid arguing with the patient.

Encourage the patient and appreciate the patient in hi or her work done.
