(Answer) Teaching strategies should be able to be considerate of the different kinds of students in the classroom. Each child would typically prefer a different method to best grasp the information that is provided in class. Ideally, the goal of the curriculum would be to give a student the knowledge that they would eventually use and apply in their field of expertise.

Periodically, almost every academic setting has a concept of evaluating whether or not the syllabi are optimally absorbed. Generally, there would a mid-term examination. As the title suggests, it would take place in the middle of the term. The year is divided into two terms. The mid-term takes place in the middle and the final examination would take place at the end of the term.

Traditionally, these examinations have been fairly important in terms of the student’s academic performance. The score sheet serves as a document that converts the knowledge gained by the student into empirical value. This is why the score sheet is an essential document for qualification in further studies and certain professional institutions.

However, these days, some examinations are being replaced by comprehensive capstones, project work, practical examinations or test in the field itself. One might be assigned to a group project in the field, a paper about a case in the field etc. These alternative styles are intended to give the student an idea about how they would have to apply the knowledge they have gained into their field.

These new forms of examinations tend to be well received as they are practical and actually help students retain information better through experiences. Memorised information isn’t always retained, remembered and applied at times of need in the field. However, a project might give a student some experience and confidence to handle matters in the field.
