The knowledge of medicinal chemistry is linked with the drug design during drug Discovery and development of active pharmaceutical ingredients and their action on the receptors by the QSAR technique, in which the activity of the drug is determined. This drug is further used in formulation development as various dosage forms which are used in the patient in the community setting. Hence during preparation of various infusions for the patients the nature of the drugs like their physicochemical properties play a significant role which are studied in the medicinal chemistry.
Thus various aspects of the medicinal chemistry can be employed in the daily practice by community pharmacist.
