1) ans)Evidence-based practice (EBP) has become increasingly
important in nursing.
Evidence-based practice simply refers to combining research,
clinical knowledge, and patient preferences to reach a health care
decision. It emphasizes the use of the highest-quality information
and deemphasizes the use of customs, opinions, or rituals to make a
clinical judgment.
The goal of evidence-based practice is simple: provide care that is
safe, effective, and compassionate.
As I contemplate my role in NP practice I feel that the implementation of EBP is extremely important to have. The best practice that is provided is based on the EBPand research that is done to come to the best possible solution to a problem. I want to use the best evidence practice to provide the best care I possibly can for my patients. I plan to implement EBP as much as I can and in any situation I can. I want the best for my patients and the best for my practice.
And also EBP is the direct pathway to getting to health care quality and safety. EBP is all about using the best evidence to make the best clinical decisions to achieve the best clinical outcomes.”
In a time when NPs and many other providers experience symptoms of burn out, EBP can be empowering. While it may require a different skillset, research has shown that when providers deliver evidence-based care, patient outcomes are markedly improved.
Delivery of high-quality and consistent services is a big challenge in the health care system nowadays Evidence based practice (EBP), a problem-solving approach to patient care based on the best available and valid evidence, leads to enhanced quality of care reduced costs , and the individual and professional development of nurses and other health workers . Moreover, EBP based on international standards enhances the quality of clinical practice . EBP has been promoted as a way for clients to receive the best level of care .
Nurses are the largest group of health care providers and have a key role in ensuring the promotion of health care and delivering better services. EBP is important to the professional development, responsibility, and capabilities of nurses , and it has become an important subject in nursing and has integrated into daily practice . In addition, nurses who practice based on the scientific evidence have been able to make better decisions in services delivery . Though nurses generally report positive attitudes and beliefs towards EBP
Evidence-based practice (EBP) is dependent on more than just
finding evidence. There are important factors that will influence
the extent to which evidence is translated into
practice.Introducing EBP involves change. Various barriers and
enablers might be encountered when attempting to change practice.
Barriers and enablers to change can occur across different levels
of healthcare and at different times.
While, four main themes were considering as an individual barrier
to implementing Evidence-based practice among nurses: "lack of
nurses' knowledge", "skills and awareness regarding use the
Evidence-based practice", "lack of professional characteristic",
"nurses' attitude and experience in using" and "language barrier in
using or implementing Evidence-based practice". Nursing
administrators and educators have the main role to facilitate
evidence-based practice implementation among nurses, therefore; the
findings of this review can help to overcome the identified
barriers. Training and education are important to enhance the
knowledge and skills of nurses to use evidence-based practice. Time
management, providing the required resources and adequate
supervision can facilitate the implementatin. Furthermore, future
research may focus on barriers of implementing EBP related to the
patients and their families.
