Affordatable healthcare system is a comprehensive health reform, changed into law which was signed by former president barack obama on march 23,2010. it was developed to cover millions of uninsured people under health insurance coverage.it prohibit insurance companies from avoid insurance coverage to people with preexisting conditions. people from low socio economic status can get health benefit by premium tax credits and cost sharing reduction. health insurance bill and out of pocket  can be reduced by premium tax credits and cost sharing reductions respectively.

it covered more people under insurance coverage and put tax penalty to some people without insurance

disadvantages of affordable care act

1. the cost has not decreased for every one: subsidies are not granted for somepeople. therefore they buy unaffordable health insurance plans and pay more for getting health benefits and these benefits are not essential for consumer

2.Reduction of employees hours: it is cost effective to pay tax by some business therefore some business are making their employess to purchase their own health insurance rather than providing sponsored health insurance. it reduces work hours of an employees so business need not provide health insurance. because according to act business must provide health insurance if work hours is increased. an employee work more than 30 hours or higher, considered as full time employee an dcoming under sponsered health insurance.

3. increased cost :it put huge tax penalties to all people who are uninsured and place a new tax penalty on medical equipment and prescriptions, wealthy individual , and individual whose income is higher . many people may find penalty as a fine.

4.shrinking Network many health insurance companies may shrinked their provider in order to reduce cost

5. enrollement challenges: people can be enrolled for shorter periods in health insurance and problem with websites and more coverage options. when the act as passed it had websites issues. therefore many health groups was involved inorder to make enrollment easier

6.market place uncertainty can raise cost: eventhough many insurance companies stabilised,many countries have only one insurance on the account of lowering competition, cancellation of insurance and higher cost.

7. individual mandate: it imposes penalty for those who donot maintain health insurance. many people felt that the act or government interferring with private lives of people and also their health cost will be place on people who support the law
