Homework Answers

Answer #1

a. Assessing the strength of information:- Strength of informnation means the quality of information is according to the study variables that the researcher want to measure. It is done by assessing the some domains in the information that gathered during the research process like

1. Based on assessment of study limitations,

2. availabilty of the relevant data according to objectives of the study,

3. directness towards the objective, consistency.

4. completed within the time limit.

b. Assessing the relevance of information:- Relevance of information means the set of information meets the information need of the user that helps them to solve the problem. we can call the Information is relevant when it helps the researcher to answerthe research problem or question.

so, we can assess the relevance of information on the basis of format written, content and degree of up-to-date about the information.

there are some method to assess the relevance:-

1. Content relevance method:- This method is help to assess the all measures or aspects that contributing variables that the researcher want to assess. eg. who is healthy & fit?

2. Face relevance method:- It is done by assessing the format written & the content written shows that it give all the information that is needed.

3. construct method:- This is done by assessing how the information is organized..

c. Assessing th reliability of information:- Reliability is the stability & accuracy of the information.

we can assess the reliabilty of the information that gathered during research process by following methods:-

1. Test -retest method:- In this we use to collect information by same method at different  time period.

2. Split half method:- In this we use odd even stretegies. In this the information part is divided into two equal parts & result is drawn by comparing the result of one half with the result of other half. This is calculated by using Spearman Brown formula.

3/ Inter observer reliability:- In this the information is assessed by different observer to assess the reliability of information.

d. Assessing the currency of information:- Currency of information means how recent the information. it is assessed by:-

1. When the informatio collected

2. assess the last date updated

3. When the iformation published

4. Assess for the date for Any modification, updation in information.
