Digital forensics plays a major role in the civil and criminal cases:

Criminal case:

Criminal case deals with the offense happened against the state. Here the evidences are the digital forensics of the particular party who does things against the law condition. Criminal cases have the higher standard of evidence comparing the civil cases. So the digital forensics worker has to be more technical and skillful.

Civil case:

These cases are deals with the two or more groups, the winner may gain payment from the looser at the end of the case judgement. In this case there will be no permission to investigate the computer very early, and there is a high chance of losing of data by removing or destroying it.
