Answer #1

On a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being the best), rate how proficient you feel with your technology skill right now. How do you envision developing your technology skills in your academic, professional, or home life?

I would rate my technology skills at 7. This skill cuts across all areas for your life because, at any moment and place, you can encounter a situation that needs its application. Academically, I look to educate myself on matters technology through continually reading books and online publications to be at par with the constantly changing trends. Professionally, I purpose to embrace and learn to use new software like personalized enterprise resource planning, among others, to increase my knowledge and skill of manipulating databases to extract useful data that inform management decisions. At home, I envision pursuing online technological training like the Cisco Certified Network Associate course, which seeks to enhance computer hardware and network handling skills and also an online ethical hacking certification.

Please list at least three goals you have to improve your technology skills throughout this course and beyond.

I endeavor to seek employment in a technologically dynamic environment that is hands-on and exposes me to frontline action in searching, finding, and applying solutions to challenges. Secondly, I purpose to surround myself with similar-minded individuals, popularly referred to as 'geeks' through befriending or by joining a local computer club. In such forums, you learn from each other and help each other understand hard technological concepts. Thirdly, I set to practice daily my acquired skills. This will aid in perfecting and reducing errors done when undertaking tasks related to the skill. Fourthly, I look forward to undertaking postgraduate studies above, taking up short certification courses to further my knowledge and expertise in technology.
