Your Senior Project Manager at Super IT Pty. Ltd. is extremely satisfied with your project selection on app related to COVID and Project Scope related to this app. Your Senior Project Manager has then shared their experiences while developing their previous projects. These included past projects having delayed schedule problems. Therefore, he/she has suggested that you need to explore all such potential factors that may contribute to your chosen project and create action plans.

On the top of this, your Senior Project Manager has asked you to further analyse whether you need to proceed with the prototype of your mobile application or not. The prototype will cost you $20,000, while there will be no extra cost if you do not develop a prototype. There is a 20% probability of failure for the prototype, and the cost impact for it will be $50,000. Nonetheless, the project will make $300,000 if it is a success. If you choose to not develop the prototype, there is an 80% chance of failure with the impact cost of $150,000. Keep in mind that the project will make $300,000 if it succeeds without a prototype.

List three important skills needed as a Project Manager in order to be able to execute the tasks and state the reasons.

3.2 Use the cause and effect diagram (fishbone diagram) to visualise all the potential problems which could contribute to the delayed schedule problem for your chosen project.

3.3 Develop two action plans to reduce the threats of delayed schedule problems for your chosen project.

3.4 Explain how you decide whether you will develop a prototype or not. A diagram and step by step calculation are required to answer this question.

Homework Answers

Answer #1

A The three skills of Project Manager is as follows|:

1 Cost, Time and Budget management Skills:

This is one of the very effective skill which a Project Manager must have when he/she is leading the Project

The project management basically should have a goodestimation skills for which they should be properly trained

or this. All the lextra cost, shortages should be properly modelled from Project Planning to Project Completion.

2.Maintaining the scope of the Project:

Basically the Manager should not forget the scope of the Project for which he is working with his entire

team. The ultimate objective of the Project should be maintained for whioch the resources should be properly

handled.

3.Team Management :

Above all resources Human resource is one of the delicate resource which must be handled with utmost

intelligency. You cannot just give let it go in case there is any issues between any memeber which can

automatically hamper the scope of the project. The manager should have watch on each and every aspect

of all the members and give due importance for Proper Management ofteam

The Fishbone Diagram of the delaying of the Project is as follows:

basically the fish bone diagram helps you to perform a cause and effect relationship which you are trying to solve

C. Action Plans to reduce threats are as Follows:

     1. Network Security:

Since there is a lot of data theft problem by cyber crimes, DDOS attacks on the

web servers, proper security measures should be taken toprevent data theft

and save the confidentiality of the users and stakeholders such as Firewalls,

            cloud services, Backups .

    2. Cost Control:

Unnecessary cost should be avoided in the same modules which needs only linear

modification. Costing should be realiable and effective to produce better and dynamic results

D.The Prototype development and its issues:

Prototype developmnet is the first stepin success of any System.Proper Placements of modules

Increases the users reliablility which can only be sought if we develop the prototype as on its

first launch at least we will get to know the user feedback if there is any glitch or does it

satisfy the user requirement . If not then we have to modify the glitches and re launch as

final product rather then facing a loss of :150,000.

It is being stated by the senior Manager that If we don't make prototype we have to suffer a loss

of :$50,000 if there is a failure of Prototype and if there is a no Prototype then we have to suffer a loss of

$150,000 an unimaginbale difference . If we succeed we will have profit of $300,000

      so prototype development is must.

      The steps are as follows:

          1, Identify the Problems

          2. Select the features

          3 Design your Prototype

          4. Share it with your Manager

          5. Start Developing the App
