The colligative properties of a solutions depend on the total number of solute particles present in solution.
now in case of non-electrolytes the number of solute molecules = no of non-electrolyte moleclules as there is no dissociation occur.
whereas, in case of electrolyte AxBy, it will dissociate to form x molecule of Ay+ ion and y molecule of Bx- ion. total no of ion = (x + y) for one molecule of electrolyte. that means one mole of electrolyte gives (x + y) mole of solute.
that is why the colgative properties of electrolytes and non-electrolytes are quite different
