Are Polyatomic Bonds the same as Metallic Bonds?

Are Polyatomic Bonds the same as Metallic Bonds?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

No . polyatomic bonds enterly different from metallic bonds.

explanation :

in polyatomic molecules there are covalent bonds are present . these covalent bonds may be localised (in between two atoms only) or decolaised covalent bond(circulates pi bonds throught out the molecule).

these bonds are formed by the sharing of electrons in general between two or more atoms.

covalent bonds may be loacalised or delocalised so these compounds may be insulator or conductor based on unpaired electrons.

now ; metalli bond means metal atom valance electrons contributes to the throught out the clustre . so these electrons are available for conduction. metallic bond is not particular metal atom in the metal cluster . it belong to throught out cluster
