why are basic stains (that carry a positive charge) better

Answer #1

Basic stains are those stains which have basic pH.

Basic stains are positively charged non biological compounds mainly used for the DNA.

These dyes are positively charged proteins binds with the negatively charged DNA molecule because DNA is negatively charged. due to the opposite charge interaction dyes can bind more tightly with the DNA. High bindng leads to high and specific observable results.

Dyes are used in electrophoresis experiment, spectrophotometry and various other studies.

need better explanation please. This is for electrostatics experiment where we had to charge materials by induction and understand the distribution of charge on different objects 1. Electrostatic phenomena resulting in personal shock are more prevalent in areas of low humidity. Qualitatively explain why this is the case and how it might manifest itself as a systematic error in your experiments. Is is better to perform this experiment on a dry day or a humid day? Why?

Positive charge A of charge 0.1mC is placed at the origin of axis x, charge B, also positive, but of magnitude 4 times greater than A is placed at x=20.0 cm. These charges if released will run away from each other, but they are kept in place by the third charge positioned somewhere on the axis x. Find the value of this third charge (in mC).

In the protonated form of lysine, the positive charge is localized on one nitrogen atom. In the protonated form of arginine, the charge is delocalized on 3 nitrogen atoms. Why does this explain why the side chain of arginine has higher pKa than the side chain of lysine?

3. A line is uniformly charged with positive charge. This line of charge has a constant linear charge density of 84 C/m and extends along the positive y axis from 0 to L=8 cm. The electric field at position a=2 cm along the positive x axis makes an angle with it. Calculate such an angle (in degrees). (Coulomb’s constant k = 1/4πε0 = 8.99 × 109 N ∙ m2/C2).
