  • Yes, the DNA content of a cell changes during diferent stages. These events include fertilization, DNA synthesis and different stages of Mitosis and Meiosis.
  • The amount of DNA doubles due to replication just before mitosis and at the end of Mitosis the DNA content is back to normal. DNA content increases at the end of the interphase of meiosis and decreases from Anaphase to Telophase. When each homologous chromosomes separate into each daughter cells, the DNA content is again halved.
