Question

How does the shape of each appendage type fit its particular function?

1. Chelipeds:

2. Walking legs:

3. Swimmerets:

Answer #1

Chelipeds-In crustaceans one pair of leg is modified into a claw which is pointed at the terminal end. This structure is attached to the front of thorax of crayfish which is a crustacean. It helps the animal to capture its prey, cut down the food it eats, and to fight among themselves.

Walking legs-crayfish use them for walking, gathering food, moving water over gills. These are also known as pereiopods which are also attached to thorax.

Swimmerets-these appendages are located on the posterior side of the animal. it helps in maintaining a posture. It is also known as the pleiopod. In females it is useful for carrying eggs. Swimmerets rythmically beat and help crayfish in swimming.

Define the term “orbital.” Describe the shape of each type of
orbital. State how many of each type are present, and in which
energy levels they are located

1. Explain the shape
of the water molecule. How is its unequal charge distributed over
that shape? Briefly mention how this
‘unequality’ affects properties of water.
2. Describe in
detail how the hydrogen bonds contribute to the high boiling and
melting point? How is it related to specific
heat?
3. Describe the ionization
of water. How does Kw relate to the pH scale?

How does the RT-PCR tell you if a gene is expressed in a
particular cell type?

You are testing a viscoelastic tissue. You fit a curve to its
creep response data, and this function is x(t) = 2.5(1 + 2e-t/3).
You fit a curve to its relaxation response data, and this function
is f(t) = 0.5(1 + e-t). Under frequency response, you notice that
its internal friction is maximum near w = 0.5 rad/s. In what ways
does this material fit or not fit the standard Kelvin model?

How does the number of electron pairs around the central atom
determine its shape?

Which functions fit the description?
function 1: f(x)=x^2 + 12. function 2: f(x)= −e^x^2 - 1.
function 3: f(x)= e^3x function 4: f(x)=x^5 -2x^3 -1
a. this function defined over all realnumbers has 3 inflection
points
b. this function has no global minimum on the interval (0,1)
c. this function defined over all real numbers has a global min
but no global max
d. this function defined over all real numbers is non-decreasing
everywhere
e. this function (defined over all...

The purpose of a data audit is to determine how “fit” a
particular company’s data is for a given purpose. A data audit not
only profiles the data, but also assesses the impact that poor
quality data will have on a company’s performance and profit.
