what are the advantages of using the oscilloscope compared to the digital meter to measure the induced emf in the secondary coil.

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Oscilloscopes are devices that measure a voltage at high speed, triggering off of a stimulus and filling a buffer. They are more accurate at higher frequency than digital meters. For a signal above 20kHz, a modern Oscilloscope is more accurate.

For Digital meters AC accuracy begins to get much worse above 20kHz. By the time we get to 100kHz, it is horrible.

So for measurement of induced EMF in secondary coil which has high frequency we use oscilloscope instead of digital Meyer.
