There are four types of orbitals s, p, d and f.
s orbital is spherical in shape, p orbital is dumb-bell in shape, d orbital is double dumb-bell in shape and f orbital has complicated shapes.
One s, three p, five d and 7 f orbitals are present.
s orbital starts from first energy level and is present in all energy levels. p orbital starts from second energy level. d orbital starts from third energy level.f orbital starts from fourth energy level.
