Regarding cooperation and altruism...
Part A: Why is cooperative behavior easier to explain purely with individual-level fitness than altruistic behavior is?
Part B: What circumstances DO favor the evolution of altruistic behavior?
Part A - cooperative behaviour is seen jn amany animals in many behaviours. This can be explained easier as it shows the direct benefit of the involved individuals which co-operate to get more benefit from a given situation like , when the resources are limited , their can be cooperation between different species of darwin finches for limited food. But altruistic behaviour is more complex as it is amoung more closely related individuals and thus, can go to higher extents to provide maximum benefit to the group on cost of the altruist.
Part B+)- Group selection , or kin selection favour this behaviour. When groups with more number of altruist individuals have more benefits and is more fitter as compared to the other individual groups.
