Cystitis and pyelonephritis are two different types of diseases found in human being.
When the bladder inflammation takes place due to bacterial infection it is called as cystitis and while the kidney inflammation takes place due to bacterial infection it is known as pyelonephritis. There are also other symptoms found in the person suffering from these diseases. Both disease are known as urinary tract infection.
For diagnosing the disease, when the urine sample is collected and placed under microscope, we can see blood cells in the urine (microscopic hematuria) if the person is suffering with cystitis, but we will see presence of nitrite and white blood cells in the urine if the person is suffering with pyelonephritis.
