Describe two metabolic steps of the metabolic network that can generate NAD+
1. Conversion of pyruvate to lactate in a reaction catalysed by lactate dehydrogenase can regenerate NAD+. Under anerobic condition pyruvate is reduced to lactate by NADH and the NADH itself gets oxidized to NAD+
2. In triacylglycerol synthesis during conversion of dihydroxyacetone phosphate (DHAP) to Glycerol-3-phosphate NAD+ is regenerated from NADH. This reaction is catalysed by glycerol-3-phosphate dehydrogenase. The DHAP is reduced to glycerol-3-phosphate by NADH and it itself gets oxidized to NAD+
