Answer #1

When anyone get the stuffy nose due to an allergy, cold or sinusitis so at that time the food become tasteless this is because the person has the ability to smell and taste the food which makes him to enjoy that food due to ability of smell and taste.

So when the person cannot able to smell properly due to the stuffy nose or due to any other allergy then that person cannot able to taste the food also. So this is due to the fact when there is a stuffy nose the the neurons which are the olfactory receptor neuron will get blocked.

As the olfactory nerves works as when an individual smell something the nerves which are present high in the nose during this time can able to send the signal to the brain. and is these olfactory neurons get blocked so they cannot be able to send the signal to the brain.

Due to which the person cannot able to taste the food.
