Paedomorphis is actually opposite/alternative to metamorphis in which adults retain some characters of larva. In salamanders there is a classic example of this condition it is where larvae reaches sexual maturity without losing their gills. But in some populations larva remains in water remain as immature.

Neotony is actually known as juvenilisation,is the dalaying of somatic development of an organism.Neotony may leads to pedomorphis in some organisms.Example of neotony in salamanders are retention of gills ,tail fins, larval skin colouratiion and wide heads in adults.
