Briefly describe the ARDS protocol.

ARDS is acute respiratory distress syndrome. It is condition in which their is obstruction for gaseous exchange in lungs due to infections like pneumonia, trauma, shock, aspiration , etc.

ARDS protocol ----

― Maintain the mechanical ventilation of patient by, setting the respiratory rate delivering to patient , increase use of PEEP, ventilation having low tidal volume is given, permissive hypercapnia is provided , V/Q is matched, oxygen saturation is maintained.
