INR is the international normalised ratio. It's an internationally accepted number which is used to detect the time taken for a clot to form. In some cases this used to determine whether the time taken to for the clot to form is due to to some kind of disease. It's to detect clotting disorders if it is formed so early or much later. It is used to detect disease such as dysfibrogenemia where the fibrinogen level is higher making clot earlier. It can be used to detect the early formation of clot by factor V leidin or due to the mutation of prothrombin gene mutation. It can also be used to detect the disease which delays blood clotting such as von willebrand's disease. We can also use it to find the clotting disorders due to factor II,X,VII etc.
