Myasthenia gravis is a type of autoimmune disorder in which the body produce antibody which attacks our own body cells.

In myasthenia gravis, the myocytes of skeletal muscles are affected. This cause weakness of the skeletal muscles of various locations. Main muscles affected are on eyes, face, throat and limbs.

The neuromuscular junction between muscle and nerve through which neurotransmitter travels and cause muscle contraction, is blocked. This cause inability of muscles to contract.
