The testis is the human male reproductive structure. The testis has an oval shape. It contains a number of lobules that contains seminiferous tubules. The testis has different types of specific cells that secrete different hormones.

Leydig cells are present in the interstitial tissue .It secrete testosterone hormone. Leydig cells also secrete insulin like factors and estradiol.

Sertoli cells are located in seminiferous tubules. They produce androgen binding protein.Main function of sertoli cells is to nurture the sperms through spermatogenesis. It secretes 2 hormones -inhibin and anti -mullerian hormone (present in fetus).Inhibin is secreted when the sperms count is too high to reduce it.Anti mullerian hormone is secreted before birth and helps in the development of male reproductive tract.
