What would happen to the cell size & cell function of a living human body cell immersed into a 5.0% NaCl solution and why?
Ans:- HUMAN BLOOD IS ISOTONIC TO 0.9% NaCl .
So 5% NaCl solution will be hypertonic to the human cell so water will move out of the cell into the NaCl solution causing dehydration of cell and shrinkage of the human cell in volume eventually all the water off the cell will move out into the 5% NaCl solution.
As we know that water act as a base solvent to carry out all the chemical reaction inside the cell so in absence of water Cell I will die due to absence of any chemical reaction and unable to synthesis ATP which is necessary for survival.
