Both the fluid in the vas deferens ( male reproductive system) and in the famale reproductive system are acidic. That is 3.8 - 4.5. But optimal level of sperm viability is between 7 to 8.5.

The acidity of the female reproductive tract is due to the production of lactic acid by Lactobacillus. .

There is a pea sized structure located on the sides of the urethra just below the prostate gland. These glands produce a clear, slippery fluid that empties directly in to the urethra. The gland is Bulbourethral ( Cowper's ) gland. Fluid produced by these glands lubricates the urethra and neutralizes acidity associated with residual urine.
