Define “muscle dysmorphia”. Compare the behaviors associated with muscle dysmorphia to the behaviors associated with other addictions, such as alcohol or drug abuse. What are some similarities? Differences?
Muscle dysmorphia is a type of mental disorder effecting mainly male. It is a type of excessive thought of a person that his body is too weak or small especially the make up of muscle due to this imaginary thought the person develop reverse anorexia which is a type of eating disorder where he eats abnormally inorder to make more muscle. Studies have shown that this mental disorder may be developed due to insufficient level of serotonin which effect mood of a person.
While comparing the behaviour of drug abuse person and muscle dysmorpia person addiction for drug and addiction for food are common.
A muscle dysmorphic person always compare his muscle with others and spent time watching mirror while alcohol or drug abuse person have increased aggression, changes in attitude.
Depression is also common feature with drug abuse person and muscle dysmorphic person.
