Does narrowband noise have an affect on bone conduction thresholds for a person that has normal hearing?
Would high or low frequency sounds be most affected by inserting an earplug into the ear?
Yes, Narrowband noise is a sound waves which tranmitted from a small audible range to transmit small data in slow or high speed.
Narrowband noise have narrow wavelength and opposite of it is Broad band.
Narrowband noise affects bone threshold because in middle ear there are 3 bones malleus, incus and stapes. If narrowband noise will cross the limit of normal hearing or bone conduction threshold which is from 0 dB to 15 dB then it will be dangerous or can cause tinnitus or hearing loss in an individual.
In case of earplug effect on hearing earphones have normal range tramitting wavelength or frequency soundwaves. But continuous use of earplugs is harmful and can cause hearing loss.
