Answer #1

Answer-

Calcitonin is a hormone, producing by the parafollicular cells or C-cells. These cells are the part of the thyroid gland. The hormone Calcitonin aids in regulation of levels of phosphate and calcium in the blood. This hormone competes and stops the action of parathyroid hormone. Therefore, calcitionin helps in reducing calcium levels. However, this hormone does not consider for the bad health of peoples because patients who suffer with very small or great levels of calcitonin express no antagonistic effects.

High calcium levels stimulate thyroid gland to release calcitonin while somtatostatin hormone reduces calcitonin levels in blood.
