True or False: The intercept model does not have the slope term. So it is an oversimplified model with poor prediction performance, and seldom used in assessing the prediction performance of other models. Briefly justify your conclusion.

Answer #1

It is true that the intercept model does not have the slope term. It has only an intercept value. It is an oversimplified model because it gives a fixed or constant value for all x.

For e.g.: y=5 is an intercept model. In simple words, we can say that the mean of a variable is an intercept model. Yes, it is a over simplified model.

In the intercept model, We have only intercept in a model that means there is no dependency on the independent variable. That's it is seldom used and gives poor prediction as compared to other models.

TRUE or FALSE and Explain why: In a multiple regression model, the inclusion of a variable ?? , whose associated ?? = 0 in the population regression function, does not bias the estimates of all the other slope parameters but can increase their sampling variance. Also, TRUE or FALSE and explain why: It does not matter for the slope estimates if ?(?) ≠ 0 as long as there is a constant term in the regression model.
