Question: What is the probability of getting a 19 and being executed by the angry mob? Express your answer as a % with 2 decimal places

Homework Answers

Answer #1

The pockets of the roulette wheel are numbered from 0 to 36. Low (1-18) and High (19-36) numbers alternate as much as possible.

In the American version of roulette an extra green slot, labelled ‘double zero’ is there. With its addition, the total number of pockets on the American roulette wheel become 38. In the European version of the roulette wheel features 37 pockets, including the numbers from 1-36, and only a single green zero pocket.

In American version the probability of getting "19" ia 1/38= 0.026315789 0.03 and in European version the probability is 1/37= 0.027027027 .0.03. Probability related to being executed by the angry mob can notbe calculated as any additional information is not there regarding execution.

Please explain clearly and thoroughly so I can understand and learn. 1. Figure out the proper motion (in degrees per day) of Mars and Neptune in the night sky when they are at opposition. For this problem, assume that the solar system’s planets are on perfectly circular, coplanar orbits (a good approximation for the most part). Show your work. Hint: Kepler’s 3rd law is very useful for quickly figuring out planet velocities, and don’t forget to consider Earth’s motion.
