1. Figure out the proper motion (in degrees per day) of Mars and Neptune in the night sky when they are at opposition. For this problem, assume that the solar system’s planets are on perfectly circular, coplanar orbits (a good approximation for the most part). Show your work. Hint: Kepler’s 3rd law is very useful for quickly figuring out planet velocities, and don’t forget to consider Earth’s motion.
