Contrast Mark 6:4 and Luke 4:24. Why is the lack of honor by the family eliminated by Luke?

Jesus is right when he says that a prophet would be accepted, respected and honored everywhere except his hometown. Although the word honor is missing in Luke’s version, the meaning is one and the same. This is because all the gospels were written at various time periods and years after the original events. Besides not all the disciples were present at the time of the event thus, wrote it from what they heard from others. These gospels were also written by two different people and they also had undergone many translations before getting to the present version. Although words differ, meaning remains same.
