(Answer) Being a good listener is generally something that takes patience and practice over an extensive period of time in order to inculcate such a habit. Since a week is a fairly short time to master being a good listener, it would mean that one might have to undergo rigour in order to establish improvements in listening. The first day of the new week would involve the decision of not speaking (unless absolutely necessary) for the entire day. This might not only coerce one to listen more than to talk but also would make one realise the value of words when one is deprived of their use.
Furthermore, one might decide to never be the first one to begin the subject or tone of conversations throughout the entire week. “Listen first and speak last” should be the precept to follow for the entire week. This would enable one to be patient enough to wait their turn to speak and also get a chance to actually listen to others instead of prematurely offering advice and opinions.
The most essential part of reading that doesn’t happen in real life is that one and re-read or rather re-listen to anything several times in order to get a deeper understanding of the written word. One might pick a small book or about 3 short stories to read. One might read each of the stories about twice each. In doing so, one might establish the difference between simply reading and actually understanding the text. This would be similar to the difference between "hearing" and "listening," it is the later that entails the element of comprehension.
