Parkinson's is a degenerative disorder which leads to deterioration of motor functions. An individual suffering from Parkinson's has a decline in not only cognition like memory, thinking and etcetera but also motor functions like tremors, paralysis and stiffness. Haloperidol is a drug which is used to treat individuals with Alzheimer's. However, if used on individuals with Parkinson's, it has life threatening side effects. Haloperidol, affects the dopamine producing cells to the extent where dopamine in the body is no longer produced, which can eventually lead to death.
